Allier

The Allier runs South to North out of Nausac reservoir towards the Loire. This s one of the last great wilderness rivers of France & my favourite canoe venue in Europe. The upper sections are tight & technical down to Nouveau Monde where the river becomes a fairly constant class 2/3. There are 42 rapids in this 18km section & is a brilliant venue for 4 star trg/assessment.
Below Monistrol the river becomes more droppy with some exciting 3′s & 4′s. After Prades the pace relaxes &shallows with the occasional class 2.
