People have been completing a canoe expedition as part of the D of E award for many years and the Ardeche gorge is a great location for such expeditions. Before any assessment takes place, it is necessery that a day of familiarisation takes place. During this day rapid management, safety and rescue are covered as well as some coaching on efficiant paddling and manual handling.
